I'm not supposed to go online, buuuut I couldn't resist posting photos of...

MY SWORD!

Our Taiji swords finally (FIANNLY) arrived from China and they were handed out to us this evening during training. All of us looked like kids who got candy when we had the swords in our hands. Oh pretty little feeyarce thaaang. You know the piercing sound in movies when the sword is pulled out from the case? Dooode, those aren't just special effects. IT'S FO REAL YO!

We also rehearsed our program routine for the MTM night somewhere this November (DUDUDUDUNNNNN). Gosh, Toni and I are right smack in the front AND center. Duuuuu--

Ok. I'm too giddy. I need to act drained so I can get a good night's sleep. Oh oh, must not forget the goodies!

No more time to tag with watermarks because it takes too much time. I'll do the tagging on Saturday.

Teaser: the case

We asked lao shr what the Chinese characters meant. He said it's means "Taiji Sword." OIC.

Yeah, the tassels are part of the sword, so it'll look less deadly. =))

I wanted to have a lion's head as the hilt, but I guess that goes with a price. Haha

It was the text message we received as soon as the van rolled out of the garage. Signal number three was raised at the NCR and southern part of Luzon Friday night. Typhoon Santi arrived right smack at the long weekend, just when the people were planning to go home to their provinces to pay respects to their dead relatives. We were one of those families who were part of the tradition of leaving Manila, because my grandparents (Mom's parents) are buried in the cemetery in Majayjay, Laguna.

We were supposed to leave at 6AM, but because the wind was blowing so hard and the rain was still strong, we monitored the storm via the news and waited for it to leave Manila. Around 11 AM, the sky started to clear and it was getting sunny.

It was useless to travel all the way to Laguna when we received the text message from my Aunt who was already in Majayjay since Monday. The bridge going to Majayjay collapsed. The river that passed under the bridge overflowed and it caused the bridge's foundation to weaken. There was another way to the town, but it's a longer way. We decided to call it quits and postpone the trip.

However, we were already out of the house and we were itching to go somewhere. So what to do on an idle day? Do a last-minute decision and go to Luneta.

I dragged my cousin (who lives right across the street) and my godchild along because we were all bored in our houses. We still kept the spirit of All Souls' Day and paid respects to the dead: our dead heroes.

First up: the shrine of our National Hero, Jose Rizal. Finally, JoRiz and I have met. Too bad we couldn't go near.

The Chinese Garden was the one nearest the JoRiz shrine and I insisted that we entered.

The place was beautiful as it is, with a giant Confucius statue in the middle of the garden. The PDA-ing couples and the gamblers were the turn off in the place. The garden was supposed to be a place of serenity and peace, but there were couples 10 meters apart from each other. Some were sprawled on the benches, taking a nap. One was even clipping her nails. Clack, clack, clack went her nail clipper. It was annoying. In one of the gazebos (or whatever you call them), there were a group of men playing cara cruz, a coin-tossing game. Peeeople, be ashamed for Confucius is staring at you.

I couldn't resist. The place called for a Taiji pose. :P

I want to return to Luneta to experience the lights and sounds show. The entrance fee only costs PhP 50. I only took photos of the wall. wengk wengk wengk

But of course, the Luneta experience wouldn't be complete without a couple shot. Mom and Dad lived up to the reputation of the place and acted like a young couple. Twahahaahha YEEEEEHEEEEEEE.

Manila is loooove. It was a wonderful last-minute decision. The departing storm provided us with a breezy weather so it wasn't hot to roam around the place.

I consider myself very fortunate and lucky to have taken the EDR 201 class as one of the first classes in my MA career. The class felt like a homeroom class to me, and my classmates as my blockmates.

My classmates are crazy, they made me look like I was the quiet one in class. Would you believe it? Me as the quiet one? Laugh out loud.

Our Psych class has a forum at the UP site. During the semester, we post our homework at the forum. Our discussions were purely educational, agreeing to the person's point or adding to the reaction of another person related to the lesson. However, on our last discussion forum, we all went off topic.

Most of my classmates aren't reading majors. Because we enjoyed each others' company last semester, all of us wanted to be classmates again. This is what happened in one of the threads.

The cut part of this post was my P.S. to the homework discussion.

I'll have most of them as my classmates next semester. We all had an agreement to take the same classes so we'll all suffer together. Haha
